Vit D screening is not covered by my health insurance, which I imagine is not uncommon. I paid for the test a couple of years ago and, as a result, I take Vit D tablets (and calcium). I understand from an osteopath who treated me in the past, that people in societies that don't sit on chairs are far better able to get up and down from the floor.
All true. It’s a good idea to start shoring yourself up early with Vitamin D and calcium and try to eat foods that contain the latter. As to getting up and down with no help, no hands: not easy!
From sitting crossed legged, move in a forward motion to knees and stand from kneeling. Its an effective way to get up from the floor without the use of one's arms - and far from the days of bobbing up as a teenager!

I should try getting up and down more often for exercise.
I’ve been trying and trying to do it but I just keel over! Must try harder.

I just tried that at home and it actually went quite well. But no more leaping up as we used to!
